VINCENT
VAN DUYSEN
ARCHITECT & DESIGNER
This project is deeply personal to me.
It represents a distillation of my own design DNA - everything I've come to stand for in design over the last 30 years.

In partnering with Zara Home, I am able to focus on the essence of my philosophy and translate it in a way that's very pure.
A collection grounded in timeless design.
And of course, quality and comfort that will stand the test of time.

{IN A WAY} you could recognize the geometrical language in my work, a pureness of its forms.
The use of elemental forms is very much present in my work. But it is not that I'm thinking in squares, rectangles, circles or in triangles.
It's the way the combinations of all these geometrical shapes create one new form, a rational silhouette that is more than the sum of its parts.
So the lines are very clean, but it is a simplicity that still invites comfort.

My goal was to instill a renewed purity into these silhouettes for Zara Home+.
In breaking down this geometrical language, I felt I was able to put the pieces back together in a way that felt even more true to my philosophy.
Versions that were simple, sincere, and soulful.

For me, everything begins with natural materials. There is a transparency to the way they show their innate qualities, their flaws and their origins that feels very alive. Very human. For this collection I drew on materials that I trust for their ability to become more beautiful with time and use. Solid oak and saddle leather. Hewn linen and crisp cotton. Materials with nothing to hide.

{I ENVISION} these pieces in all kinds of living rooms, in all sizes, all over the world. I consider this collaboration to be a little bit of a gift that I can share with everybody in the world.
This collection is intended to complement your living space, without defining it.
I invite you to make each piece your own.
