Put the milk in a saucepan with the sugar, lemon zest, cinnamon stick, and vanilla pod. Heat everything, and when it starts to boil, remove it from the heat. Cover and let it cool.

Once cooled, strain the infused milk and soak the bread in it. Let it soak until it absorbs all the milk.
