Zaha Hadid, born in Baghdad, Iraq, was raised in a family with a strong artistic and liberal incline. In 1980, she established her own architecture studio, Zaha Hadid Architects, in London, where she developed a revolutionary style that defied the traditional forms of architecture. Her bold and visionary designs brought to life what was previously seemed impossible, including iconic structures such as the London Aquatic Centre, the Guangzhou Opera, and the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Recognised as one of the most influential architects of her time, Hadid was the first woman to receive the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she stood out for her commitment to feminism and her passion for blazing trails in a field historically dominated by men, becoming a pioneer figure and a source of global inspiration.

Little People, BIG DREAMS is a collection of illustrated biographies that invites us to learn about the lives of extraordinary people. From artists and designers to scientists and activists, each book in the series narrates how they managed to turn a small dream into a great story.
