A new edition of the only major monograph on Alaïa, out of print for over a decade. Alaïa was celebrated for his intricately designed haute couture, his unparalleled sculptural, form-fitting creations. This book, the result of over a decade of work, pays tribute to Alaïa's world through a collection of images that showcase his couture masterpieces worn by his muses and captured by the most iconic fashion photographers of the 20th century.

It features archival photographs documenting Alaïa's early years in Tunisia, excerpts from literary texts and other sources of inspiration for the couturier, and insights from his closest friends. Readers are invited into an intimate world where creativity flourished without limits.

Alaïa features more than 200 photographs by legendary figures such as Paolo Roversi, Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, Helmut Newton, Patrick Demarchelier, Arthur Elgort, Ellen von Unwerth, Gilles Bensimon and many more. With a new introduction by Carla Sozzani and Christoph von Weyhe of the Alaïa Association, this book is a testament to the immense talent, singular vision and independent spirit of a designer who has forever changed the fabric of the fashion industry.
